WE HAVE MOVED TO OUR NEW CLINC

We have the exciting opportunity to move into a new premise just three doors down at 243 Nayland road Stoke. From the 4th of November we will be able to treat all patients in our newly renovated space, providing the excellent hand therapy care you have come to expect.

Same team. Same exceptional care. Better space.

Meet Our Team

Originally established in 2004 by Trish Brown, the Nelson Hand Therapy Clinic has been looking after the people of Nelson for almost 20 years. Now directed by Elliot Frizelle, our team is made up of four qualified Physiotherapists who have studied further to become registered Hand Therapists. We work together to ensure you get the best possible care.

Please see our booking page to see when we are available to support you.

Elliot Frizelle

Director, Registered Hand Therapist, Registered Physiotherapist

BHSc(Physio), PGCert(Rehabilitation)

After 9 years working as a rehabilitation and musculoskeletal Physiotherapist in both private and public sectors, I trained as a Hand Therapist and haven't looked back. I am passionate about hand therapy and thrive on the challenge of being a specialist in the hand and upper limb. Our hands play such an important role in our everyday lives, and I enjoy working closely with people to help them on their journey of recovery.

I value having an active lifestyle and grab any opportunity to explore the beautiful outdoors that Nelson has to offer with my wife Christina, four-year-old son Noah and one year old daughter Zara.

Trish Brown

Clinical Director, Registered Hand Therapist

I graduated with a diploma in Physiotherapy from New Zealand School of Physiotherapy Dunedin in 1977. I have worked in Nelson as a Physiotherapist for almost all my career and had the opportunity to undertake Hand Therapy training in 1999. Initially I worked only at Nelson Hospital but established Nelson Hand Therapy Clinic in 2004 after becoming a fully registered Hand Therapist. I have thoroughly enjoyed working in Hand Therapy and it has been a real privilege to assist people with their recovery from what has often been a very traumatic and challenging process.

I will miss all the people I come into contact with at the Clinic but am looking forward to spending some more time in my garden and doing some travelling.

Registered Hand Therapist, Registered Physiotherapist

PGCertHealthScience(Rehabilitation), BPhty, BBiomedSci

After gaining diverse experience in Physiotherapy across various departments at Wellington Regional Hospital, I found my true passion when I joined the Hand Therapy team. It was here that I discovered the perfect blend of my love for working with people and my creative inclinations. Since 2020, I have worked in private practice and completed further study. Hand Therapy not only allows me to support clients through their hand and upper limb injuries, but also serves as a creative outlet for me through custom splint making and innovative problem-solving. I consider it a privilege to assist clients on their journey to recovery, offering them the expertise and compassionate care they deserve.

Outside of work, I indulge in my personal interests, including crochet, which allows me to express my creativity in another form. I also find joy in music, cooking, and embarking on exciting adventures with my partner and our beloved dog.

Registered Hand Therapist, Registered Physiotherapist

BHSc(Physio), PGCert(Rehabilitation)

I am a Physiotherapist with an interest in musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions. I am a qualified McKenzie, Mulligan, Back in Motion Pilates instructor and have a post graduate certificate in western acupuncture. I started specialising in Hand Therapy in 2019 and am now fully registered working in this role both privately and for the DHB. I love hand therapy for the challenge of combining orthopaedic and musculoskeletal knowledge and for our role within a greater medical team.

I have a husband Lon and two children and two stepchildren and grandchildren. When I’m not working I like being in Golden Bay or Murchison (home town), tramping, walking the dog, paddle boarding, reading and gardening and hanging out with my family.
